Novant Health is seeking a  Part- Time Clinical Pharmacist, to join our acute care pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time. Candidate needs to be able to cover 2nd shft for weekeend  rotations.

Essential functions include:

• Facilitates pharmaceutical care services for all disciplinary approaches, medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas to ensure drug utilization activities are aligned with patient care needs, evidence- based best practices and regulatory standards. Must be willing to cover for the benefit of our patients.
• Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profile/ chart to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug- related problems,
• Partners as an active member of multidisciplinary team and collaborates with healthcare providers within decentralized patient care areas to provide patient- centered care
• Makes appropriate evidence-based, patient- centered medication recommendations
• Participates in the management of medical emergencies
• Provides discharge medication review, reconciliation, and counseling as appropriate
• Maintains proficiency in and actively engages in central dispensing functions and operational programs
• Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities
• Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/ mentorship skills

• Education:4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, required.  Doctorate of Pharmacy, preferred.
• Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role; excludes PRN team members who may not be eligible to take certification exam, required. 
• Additional skills required: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
